EMMETT OF STAVERTON

A Christopher, son of William Emmett, was baptised on 8 March 1583/84 at Totnes. This might be the Christopher who heads the account below but there were Emmetts in Staverton before the registers begin there in 1614. There was a case concerning the estate of Richard Emmett of Staverton in 1590.[1] A Henry Emmett of Staverton made his will in 1593/94 and one of the men who took the inventory was a Christopher Emmett of Ipplepen.

EMMETT

1 CHRISTOPHER EMMETT was buried on 28 April 1637 at Staverton, Devon.[2] He married JANE.[3] She was buried on 1 December 1658 at Staverton.[4]

2 GEORGE EMMETT of Staverton was baptised on 18 February 1617/18 at Staverton[12] and buried on 26 May 1679 at Staverton.[13] He married on 13 June 1643 at Staverton, JOAN DOLLING,[14] daughter of Nicholas and Petronel (Brodridge) Dolling (see here). Joan was baptised on 14 November 1627 at Staverton.
