WELLS OF DONCASTER

The Robert Wells who married Ellen Blacker was likely the one baptised in 1563 at Doncaster, son of Thomas Wells. Robert’s wife was probably the Ellen baptised there in 1563, daughter of Raphe Blacker.

[1] He may have been the Robert Wells, butcher, who was buried on 15 Jan 1626/27 at Doncaster, but when Ellen Wells was buried in Dec 1628, she was described as the “wife”, rather than the widow, of Robert.
