The William Wells who married Barbara Pettie was probably the one baptised in 1593 at Doncaster, son of Robert Wells.

1          WILLIAM WELLS, butcher, married on 29 November 1618 at Doncaster, BARBARA PETTIE.[1] She was buried on 9 May 1663 at Doncaster.[2]

2          ROBERT WELLS of Doncaster, butcher, was baptised on 3 Feb 1627/28 at Doncaster[16] and buried on 11 May 1678 at Doncaster.[17] He married on 1 May 1651 at Doncaster, Yorkshire, DOROTHY WOOD,[18] daughter of William and Anne (Kinson) Wood. Dorothy was baptised on 10 May 1629 at Doncaster[19] and buried on 19 December 1700 at Doncaster.[20]
