HAWKEN OF LANIVET

William Hawken and Honor Hawken of Lanivet are mentioned in the 1639 probate record of John Cowle of Bodmin.[1] William Hawken of Egloshayle took the inventory of the estate of John Cowle or Cowles in 1637.[2] In 1649, administration of the estate of Joan Cowle of Bodmin, widow, was granted to her son John Davey, and William Hawken of Egloshayle was a party to the bond.[3] Joan was apparently the Joan Hawken who married Tristram Davey at Bodmin in 1614.

The William Hawken who married Honor may have been the son of that name mentioned in the 1601/02 will of Nicholas Hawken of Bodmin, which also named a daughter Joan.[4]

Another connection which might be relevant is that Nicholas Rosevear was one of the men who took the inventory of Andrew Hawken or Hawkin of Lanivet in 1672.[5]
