FOWLER OF HUNSLET

Administration of the estate of James Fowler of Hunslet was granted to his widow Susanna on 16 February 1676/77. The will of Susanna Fowler of Hunslet, widow, dated 13 December 1679 and proved on 21 January 1679/80, mentions her son John Fowler, son Thomas Fowler, daughter Elizabeth Lambert and daughter Susanna Fowler.

I have not yet found a marriage for James and Susanna, but the latter may be the Suzan, daughter of Thomas Calbecke of Hunslet, who was baptised at St Peter, Leeds, on 19 August 1623. The witnesses to Susanna’s will in 1679 were John Overend, Joshua Calbecke and John Hutchinson. Joshua, son of Thomas Calbecke of Hunslet, was baptised at Leeds in 1634. Elizabeth, daughter of Thomas Calbecke of Hunslet, was baptised at Leeds in 1625 and John Hutchinson and Elizabeth Calbecke of Hunslet were married at Leeds in 1658.

FOWLER

JAMES FOWLER of Hunslet, Yorkshire, died ca 1676.[1] He married SUSANNA CALBECK,[2] daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth (Holdsworth) Calbeck (see here). Susanna was baptised on 19 August 1623 at St Peter, Leeds, and died in 1679.
