SISSON OF ALLERTON MAULEVERER

 

The Allerton Mauleverer parish registers record the burial of an Elizabeth Sisson of Hopperton, widow, on 12 April 1597.

SISSON

 

1          ROBERT SISSON of Hopperton, Yorkshire, died in February 1630/31.[1] He married on 23 December 1594 at Allerton Mauleverer, MARY WARD.[2] She was buried on 7 September 1655 at Allerton Mauleverer.[3]

iii            NICHOLAS SISSON of Hopperton and Plumpton, husbandman, bap 5 Mar 1599/1600, Allerton Mauleverer,[5] bur 2 Jan 1675/76, Spofforth;[6] m 2 Aug 1635, Spofforth, ALICE HUDSON.[7]

iv            MARY SISSON, bap 26 Dec 1602, Allerton Mauleverer;[8] m 3 Aug 1630, Allerton Mauleverer, GUY STAPLETON.[9]

v              ROBERT SISSON, bap 21 Sep 1605, Allerton Mauleverer.[10]

vi            PRUDENCE SISSON, bap 8 Mar 1611/12, Allerton Mauleverer.[11]

vii           AGNES SISSON, bap 5 Feb 1614/15, Allerton Mauleverer.[12]

viii          THOMAS SISSON, bap 16 Feb 1616/17, Allerton Mauleverer.[13]

ix            ANN SISSON, bap 5 Mar 1619/20, Allerton Mauleverer.[14]

 

2          RICHARD SISSON of Allerton Mauleverer was baptised in May 1598 at Allerton Mauleverer[15] and buried in December 1660 at Allerton Mauleverer.[16] He married on 16 February 1630/31 at Allerton Mauleverer, JOAN DEWES,[17] daughter of Robert Dewes (see here). She was buried on 6 October 1670 at Allerton Mauleverer.

v              ROBERT SISSON of Hopperton, bap 3 Mar 1637/38, Allerton Mauleverer,[24] bur 30 Oct 1706, Allerton Mauleverer.[25]

vi            KATHERINE SISSON, bap 13 Feb 1639/40, Allerton Mauleverer.[26]

vii           RICHARD SISSON of Allerton Mauleverer, bap 18 Jul 1644, Allerton Mauleverer,[27] bur 14 Jan 1721/22, Allerton Mauleverer;[28] m ANN.[29]

Robert had children but the identity of his wife or wives is uncertain. A Robert Sissons and Mary Inchbowle were married at Kirklington in 1670 but that might be the Robert who had children baptised at West Tanfield in the 1670s and later.
