NEWEL OF GREAT HORTON
There
were evidently at least two John Newels having children in the Bradford area in
the 1660s and 1670s. John Newel and Agnes Stones were married there in 1665 and
John Newel and Isabel Scholefield were married there in 1666.

2 WILLIAM NEWEL of Great
Horton, tailor, was baptised on 2 January 1669/70 at Bradford[1]
and buried on 21 January 1714/15 at Bradford.[2]
He married on 6 September 1692 at Halifax, MARTHA WOODHEAD,[3]
daughter of Joseph and Susan (Royds) Woodhead (see here). Martha
was baptised on 14 November 1669 at Halifax and buried on 6 September 1731 at
Bradford.
