HESLEDEN OF HEATON
In view of the recurrence of names, it seems very likely that the Hesledens of Heaton were related to earlier Hesledens recorded in the parish registers of Halifax, though the exact connection is not yet clear.

For example, a Timothy, son of Michael Hasleden, was baptised at Halifax in 1646, and Michael Hesleden of Heaton also had a son called Timothy, baptised in 1701.
Bradford parish registers (online at http://www.ancestry.com). The registers record the burial of another Michael Hesleden of Heaton on 14 Apr 1719 but he is described as “a Young Man” which does not seem a likely description for the Michael who had had children baptised over twenty years previously.
Bradford parish registers (online at http://www.ancestry.com). The spelling Grandzees for the name of this daughter of Michael Hesleden seems clear in her baptism entry in both the parish registers and bishops’ transcripts, but it does not seem to occur elsewhere. There is a possibility that it is a mistake for Frances as a Thomas Stead and Frances Hesleden were married at Bradford in 1725.
Bradford parish registers (online at http://www.ancestry.com). The burial entry describes Timothy as “a Young Man from Heaton”. There was also a Timothy Hesledine of Heaton buried at Bradford on 18 Mar 1778.
Bradford parish registers (online at http://www.ancestry.com). He may have been the Jeremy Hesledine of Heaton buried at Bradford on 12 May 1771, though that may have been his son of the same name.
