HESLEDEN OF HEATON

In view of the recurrence of names, it seems very likely that the Hesledens of Heaton were related to earlier Hesledens recorded in the parish registers of Halifax, though the exact connection is not yet clear.[1]

[1] For example, a Timothy, son of Michael Hasleden, was baptised at Halifax in 1646, and Michael Hesleden of Heaton also had a son called Timothy, baptised in 1701.

[2] Bradford parish registers (available online at http://www.ancestry.com). The registers record the burial of another Michael Hesleden of Heaton on 14 Apr 1719 but he is described as “a Young Man” which does not seem a likely description for the Michael who had had children baptised over twenty years previously.
