LANCASTER OF WAKEFIELD AND ROTHWELL

The surname of this family is sometimes spelt Longcaster.

The 1619/20 will of George Lancaster mentions, among others, his father Edward Lancaster, mother Grace Lancaster, brother Henry Lancaster, brother Edward Lancaster and the latter’s children Stephen, Susanna and Rosamund. The testator also mentions his uncle John Holmes alias Bogle and John’s wife Ann Holmes.

LANCASTER

1 EDWARD LANCASTER was buried on 22 December 1623 at Wakefield, Yorkshire.[1] He married GRACE. She was buried on 24 January 1627/28 at Wakefield.[2]

2 EDWARD LANCASTER of Rothwell was buried on 3 December 1652 at Rothwell.[5] He married on 5 October 1613 at Rothwell, ALICE FEATHER.[6] She was buried on 21 January 1653/54 at Rothwell.[7]
