HILL OF CLAWTON

No baptism has been found for Jacob Hill who married Grace Kingford at North Tamerton in 1719. However, there are many earlier references to Hills in the area. These include the marriage of Simon Hill of Tetcott to Mary Bassett at Launceston in 1683. Simon and Mary appear to have had children baptised at Clawton and North Tamerton, both parishes with which Jacob Hill was later associated.
