BRIDGEWATER OF BISHOPS FROME

John Bridgwaters of Eardisland and Joan George who were married on 26 February 1714 at Pembridge[1] were evidently a different couple from the one heading the account below as they had children baptised at Eardisland in 1715 and 1720.

The John and Joan Bridgewater or Bridgewaters who had children baptised at Bishops Frome between 1714 and 1723 were more likely the same as the ones of those names who had a son John baptised at Withington on 21 March 1699/1700, especially as a John Bridgewater of Bishops Frome married Grissel Holt at Hereford cathedral on 24 August 1726.[2]

BRIDGEWATER

JOHN BRIDGEWATER was buried on 31 March 1758 at Preston Wynne, Herefordshire.[3] He married JOAN.[4] She was buried on 21 August 1760 at Preston Wynne.[5]

iii WILLIAM BRIDGEWATER of Preston Wynne, bap 4 Apr 1717, Bishops Frome,[11] bur 19 Nov 1746, Preston Wynne.[12]

iv JOAN BRIDGEWATER, bap 6 Nov 1718, Bishops Frome,[13] bur 27 Feb 1756, Preston Wynne;[14] m 2 Apr 1741, Much Cowarne, JEREMIAH THOMAS.[15]

v SUSANNA BRIDGEWATER, bap 6 Dec 1723, Bishops Frome;[16] m 23 May 1744, Bishops Frome, EDWARD JAUNCEY.[17]
