CRAVEN OF SHIPLEY AND NORTHOWRAM
Matthew Craven is stated to have been aged eighty when he was buried in 1680/81 but he may have been the “Mathaw Craven” baptised at Guiseley on 22 February 1606/07.[1] No parents are named in the baptism entry but another Matthew Craven of Horsforth in the parish of Guiseley made his will in 1631. The testator mentions “all my children” but only names a son John Craven and daughter Martha Cloudley.[2]
