GILPIN OF GILDERSOME

 

Samuel Gilpin whose children were baptised at Batley in the period 1710-1716 may have been the Samuel, son of William Gilpin of Adwalton, who was baptised at Birstall on 20 August 1688.

1          SAMUEL GILPIN of Gildersome, Yorkshire, labourer, was buried on 4 July 1761 at Batley.[1] He married SARAH who was buried on 25 April 1750 at Batley.[2]

                2              ii              GEORGE GILPIN (1712-1800); m MARY BROGDEN.

                                iii             MARY GILPIN, bap 30 Oct 1715, Batley.[4]

                                iv             MARTIN GILPIN, bap 18 Nov 1716, Batley, bur 12 Apr 1801, Gildersome.[5]

 

2          GEORGE GILPIN of Gildersome, clothier, was baptised on 28 September 1712 at Batley and buried on 23 March 1800 at Gildersome.[6] He married on 22 April 1734 at Batley, MARY BROGDEN.[7]

Sarah may have been the Sarah, daughter of John Brogden of Middleton, who was baptised at Rothwell in 1707.
