BILLAM OF WALES, YORKSHIRE
Godfrey Hancock married Grace Billam in 1624 in the parish of Wales, Yorkshire. The
paternity of Grace is confirmed by the will of her father Thomas Billam, proved in 1649. The will is in poor condition and
parts of it are missing, but it mentions the testator’s son Thomas Billam, son Francis Billam,
eldest son William Billam, daughters Mary wife of
George Taggs, Elizabeth Peighan
and Grace Hancocke, grandchild Jane Hancock and other
grandchildren, and wife Jane Billam.
